Sam Sahl, MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT

Director of Athletic Development

Sam graduated in 2021 from Merrimack College with his Masters in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning. During this time he completed his third collegiate strength and conditioning experience with Brandeis University serving as a Graduate Assistant for all 14 of the varsity athletic teams. Previous to his time at Brandeis, Sam coached in the varsity weight rooms of Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and the University of New England (Biddeford, ME). Aside from the college sector, Sam has held the role of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Bridgton Academy (2019-2020) and is currently the Coordinator of Strength of Conditioning for the Maine Mussels Lacrosse Club. He graduated from the University of New England in 2019 with Bachelors in Exercise Science.

Sam has a firm understanding that being an affective coach comes from appreciating the nuances that make up the athlete. In this, he strives to understand everyone on a personal level in order to create a mutual trust. His principles are guided by the quote, “Comparison is the theft of joy,” (Teddy Roosevelt). Outward comparison will rarely yield us strength, but it is when we look inward that we can make lasting changes.
