During the off-season, athletes need to develop strength, power, speed, and coordination to decrease their risk of injury. This requires them to step back from their sport a little bit and spend time dedicated to physical preparation. This preparation period is used to improve their movement quality and increase their athleticism.
The Coastal Performance Youth Strength & Conditioning program is designed to provide athletes with a training environment that allows them to build this foundation of strength, power, speed, and coordination. These are the physical underpinnings that will allow athletes to benefit the most from training their sport.
Throughout the program, athletes will not only develop physical skills; they will gain the knowledge and understanding of basic strength training principles. They will also learn the meaning of proper sports nutrition and understand how they can fuel their bodies for success. This knowledge will benefit them throughout their high school and college athletic careers, as well as their future lives.
